xbox live update september 29

As Microsoft gears up to bring you the New Xbox Experience (NXE), Xbox LIVE and the Xbox LIVE page on Xbox.com will be down for 24 hours, beginning on September 29, 2008 from 12:01 AM PST until 11:59 PM PST. During this time you will not be able to access Xbox LIVE.

Note that this does NOT mean the NXE will be available on September 30th, this is prep work on the back end. Also, given their record, don't hold your breath for it to come up exactly at 11:59 PM. My personal opinion is that you can reasonably expect services to be up by noon the following day. For those with blogs on 360voice.com, their typical approach is to not count the 29th for streaks but streaks will not be interrupted due to the outage.

David Blaine: Dive of Death

David Blaine, known for his headline-making spectacles of physical, emotional and mental endurance, will live on the line -- literally. Blaine, the 'Upside Down Man,' will attempt to hang from a thin wire five stories in the air -- with no safety net or airbag to break his fall -- in Central Park's Wollman Rink for three days and nights. Blaine, who has triumphantly revived amazing crowd-pleasing spectacles of magic, surprises people by appearing in the most unexpected places, bringing his amazing illusions to people who need it the most. The real people with whom Blaine shares the power of his magic include residents of the Ninth Ward in New Orleans, coal miners in West Virginia's Mingo County and inner city gangs of East St. Louis.

For more than 60 spellbinding hours, Blaine will be on the wire without food. He will pull himself up to drink liquids and to restore circulation. He will need to fight off muscle spasms and lack of sleep, as well as maintain maximum concentration in order to be successful. He will have to hang on for his life, even sleeping by dangling upside down.

Blaine's latest endurance challenge will take place in full public view -- a free, family friendly event beginning the morning of September 22 -- with passersby able to see him hanging precariously from his high wire.

Blaine successfully held his breath under water for longer than any human being (after inhaling pure oxygen) -- 17 minutes and four-seconds -- live on April 30 on The Oprah Winfrey Show. In May 2006, on ABC's live special, David Blaine: Drowned Alive, he attempted to break the 8-minute, 58-second record for a breath-hold under water (after inhaling air that was not oxygenated) after living for a record seven days and nights underwater -- longer than any human -- in an acrylic sphere in front of New York's Lincoln Center.

He also successfully completed a 44-day fast in an acrylic box suspended over the Thames River in London in the fall of 2003, surviving only on water. American viewers have been following his exploits for years on ABC Television. On David Blaine: Vertigo, in May of 2002, he balanced on a platform, 22 inches in diameter, atop a 90-foot pillar in Manhattan's Bryant Park for 35 hours.

In November 2000, Blaine's Frozen in Time challenge drew massive crowds in Times Square, as he successfully survived inside a block of ice for over 61 hours. In April 1999, he was Buried Alive for seven days and seven nights, stunning thousands of New Yorkers who filed by his see-through crypt. The country was initially introduced to Blaine's amazing brand of incredible effects on his first ABC special, David Blaine: Street Magic, which aired in May 1997.

This was not a big surprise to see Marlee Matlin go home this week on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ Marlee has done an amazing job on the show, she is deaf and she can dance! She out danced other celebrities for quite a long time. In the end the competition is getting down to the nitty-gritty and she has reached her potential on the ballroom dance floor.

Ashlee Simpson performed on the show last night and was an improvement from her recent appearance on the ‘Today’ Show. She is the younger sister of Jessica Simpson, who in years past lip-synched on Saturday Night Live and ran off the stage when the music goofed up. So now that she has to sing, her music is ok. The song was a bit boring but maybe that is what young kids like to listen to. Ashlee Simpson has is newly engaged to Pete Wentz and is rumored to be pregnant. She looked like she could be pregnant, her dress was puffy and hinted of a slight belly.

entourage season 5 episode 2

Vinny’s quote above, while coming late in tonight’s episode, sets the tone for what looks like an incredible uphill battle for the Aquaman star to get his superstar status back.

Entourage 5.02 Recap Unlike a VirginTonight’s episode of Entourage, Unlike a Virgin, succeeded in 2 areas. For one, it made us realize that Vinny Chase really might not be the actor that everyone around esteems him to be. And secondly, it has shown that the writers have no intention of making Drama more than a periphery character, relegated to one-liners and subpar story-lines. I mean, am I supposed to care about him and his girlfriend? I really don’t feel anything but aggravation when watching their already-tired long-distance-Apple-Product-Placement Scenes.

We also are reminded that all Entourage cameos are not created equal. Mark Wahlberg steps back in front of the camera in an instant-classic golf scene with Ari. It’s a rare time that we see Ari seriously in doubt about Vince. The other cameo is a pretty lame one from Tony Bennett that threatened to completely take Season 5 out of the rhythm it’s built thus far.

And then there’s the celebrities not playing themselves. Gossip Girl Leighton Meester was back as Justine Chapin in another round of “Let’s Tease Vince.” Carla Gugino was back as Amanda, who E goes to in order to get his new clients’ script sold. And those new clients are played by Giovanni Ribisi and Lukas Haas, who joined the show in low-key fashion tonight. Expect more from these in upcoming episodes.

Back to Justine, she plays an integral part of this episode, making Vinny a little more insecure about himself than he already was. When she pawns Vin off on her girlfriend, we are taken to one of the best scenes I’ve seen Adrian Grenier act in Entourage. He confronts Ari and asks his agent for some candid thoughts on his career. Was he really that bad in Medellin and is this what happens after one bad movie? And Ari gives it to him straight: When asked if he could return Vince to the top, Ari answers “I don’t know.” We find out that Ari believes more in Vincent’s movie star potential than his acting. The end result is that Vince wants to rise to the challenge and get the status that he once so apathetically held.

The all-too-short episode ends with Vince convincing Justine that they should finish the ‘business’ they started years ago. Drama breaks up with Jacqueline (while the rest of us in front of our tubes scream a collective hoorah!) and gets a little too friendly with a bottle of Jack Daniels.

In reflection, this wasn’t the best Entourage episode, but the shift in tone was deliberate and honestly, quite refreshing. The whole Medellin plot-line was more of a gimmick before. Now its aftermath is really where we feel like irreparable damage has been done. You can’t watch this 25 minute short and wonder if Vinny has what it takes to make it back. And if he’s truly not a great actor, what chance does he really have if Hollywood is over him?

Type A typesshould basically stick to fruits and vegetables (high carbs / low fat).

They have thicker blood than other blood types, a sensitive immune system,

and should not consume dairy products, animal fats and meats. They are at

a heightened risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer.

Type B typesshould consume a balanced diet (fruits and vegetables, grains, fish, dairy, meat,

but avoid chicken). They have the best chance of bypassing or overcoming

everyday types of diseases, including heart disease and cancer.

Type AB typesshould consume a mostly vegetarian diet, and only on rare occasions some

fish, meat (no chicken), and dairy.

Type O typesshould basically stick to a high protein diet (including red meat), low carbs, and

enriched with fruits and vegetables. They should limit the intake of wheat germ,

whole wheat products, corn, and avoid dairy products and most nuts.

Type O types are commonly affected with hypothyroidism, high stomach acid

(leading to ulcers), and thinner blood with greater resistance to blood clotting.
